Where to meet so both sides can actually get there
Nearly every workable meetup point in Bangkok sits next to a BTS or MRT station, because many buyers have no car and will not gamble on evening traffic. Name the station and exit in your listing — "in front of the 7-Eleven at Asok exit 3" is far easier to agree on than naming a district.
Small high-value items such as phones, watches and cameras should be handed over inside a mall or an office lobby with cameras and constant foot traffic. Do not agree to a car park or a quiet lane, even if the buyer suggests it.
- Sukhumvit line (Asok, Phrom Phong, Ekkamai): office workers and expats; 18:00-20:00 works best.
- Silom-Sathorn: lunch handovers at 12:00-13:00 beat weekday evenings, when the whole district empties at once.
- Lat Phrao, Ratchada, Huai Khwang: dense condo areas where small appliances and room furniture move quickly.
- Bang Na, Rama 2, Rangsit: buyers usually drive, so this is where bulky furniture actually sells.
Getting items into a condo: what sellers forget
Most Bangkok condos restrict move-in hours (often weekdays 09:00-17:00), require registration with the juristic office, and some hold a deposit for use of the service lift. If you are selling a sofa, a wardrobe or a washing machine, ask in chat whether the buyer's building needs a lift booking — not when the pickup truck is already downstairs.
Measure the door and lift before agreeing on a price. Plenty of two-door fridges and three-seat sofas fall through simply because they do not fit the lift. Putting width, depth and height in the listing removes the problem entirely.
Delivery and moving costs inside the city
Anything that fits in a box is best sent by a normal parcel service. Bulky items in Bangkok usually travel by hired pickup truck or an app-booked moving service, where the price depends on distance and how many people are needed to carry it. Agree who pays before confirming the sale.
If the buyer lives on the other side of town, offering "this price includes delivery to your condo" usually closes the sale faster than the same amount taken off the price. Bangkok buyers value the travel time they save.
Categories that turn over fastest here
- Small condo furniture: desks, chairs, shelving and floor lamps sell quickly at the start of the month, when people move in.
- Small kitchen appliances: air fryers, microwaves and coffee machines have the widest pool of buyers.
- Phones and tablets: value drops fast with each new model, so sell as soon as you stop using it.
- Automatic motorcycles: popular with delivery riders; have the registration book ready and transfer at the Department of Land Transport.
- Branded clothing and bags: they hold value when you keep the receipt or dust bag and photograph stitching and labels clearly.
When to post
Listings in Bangkok get the most views between 20:00 and 23:00, and late morning at weekends. Posting then puts your listing at the top of the feed while the most people are looking.
At month end and before Songkran or New Year, a lot of people move rooms or head to their home province at once, so room furniture and appliances flood the market. Sellers should price more competitively then; buyers get the best bargains of the year.
